Time To Support Target

MTV’s channel “Teen Nick” has begun airing a promotional announcement for TheTrevorHelpline.org, The Trevor Helpline states it is “a free and confidential service that’s open for gay and questioning youth.  Be proud of who you are.”  The organization’s website has a constant link called “Things to consider when coming out” and is currently promoting “LBGT History Month October 2011, 31 Days.  31 Icons.”  It goes on to list celebrities that are LGBT icons.  LGBT stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, and now adding Q which stands for Questioning Youth is referenced LGBTQ on this site.

The Trevor Helpline promotion aired during the “Beat It” episode of Teen Nick’s Degrassi series when teen Riley, the openly gay football captain and starting quarterback, declined reparative therapy for his homosexuality. Not only is Teen Nick now featuring a show that encourages the nation’s youth to embrace alternate lifestyles, but the family retail chain Target Corporation is helping through sponsorship.

Upon discovering that Target Corporation is one of the main advertisers during the progressive and inspirational program Degrassi, we are delighted and the retail chain needs to know we are behind them. At least three Target advertisements appeared during each episode of Degrassi this past weekend.

They are enabling teens and children to become comfortable with their sexual preference and to ignore the closed-minded hate groups out there on a program that also promotes the transgender and homosexual lifestyle.

The helpline helps a child or teenager who may be a bit confused about his or her sexuality.  It openly promotes that “if you call this helpline, you are not persuaded to walk away from the lifestyle. You are persuaded to be proud and embrace it.” Target and Teen Nick are being extremely helpful.  People need to know that being gay is not an inconvenience that will go away if you ignore it.  You are born that way and there is nothing wrong with that.

TAKE ACTION

Please send Target an email to let them know that you appreciate Target’s ads helping to subsidize this promotion on the Teen Nick show, Degrassi, and the wonderful program itself.

Everyone Should Watch Allen Gregory

Newest Animated Character on Fox is a hilarious Seven-Year-Old

A new series on Fox, Allen Gregory, premiers on Sunday, October 30 at 8:30 P.M. EST (7:30 P.M. Central).  Allen Gregory is a new animated series that tells the story of one of the most pretentious seven year olds of our time.

Fox describes Allen Gregory as a young man who is intelligent, sophisticated, worldly, artistic and romantic.  He inherited these characteristics from his doting father, Richard. Richard’s life partner, Jeremy, is helping raise his son, and Allen Gregory has minimal respect, if any at all, for Jeremy. They live together in a loft, along with Julie, Allen Gregory’s adopted Cambodian sister.

This sexy, wine drinking seven-year-old thinks he is grown and flirts and hits on women 3-4 times his age, including his teacher. This new series will join the animation lineup along side “Family Guy,” “The Cleveland Show,” “The Simpsons,” and “American Dad.”

Apparently some hate groups are targeting this show and are fine with what goes on in shows like Family Guy.  Weird how they don’t try to attack shows that they know have absolutely no chance in getting cancelled.  They only want to attack new shows that might get cancelled due to low ratings and then take credit for their crappy little group being the reason for this.  Well set your DVR’s, turn on the TV at 8:30 PM EST on Sunday’s and watch the crap out of this show.

TAKE ACTION

Please send an email letter to Fox Network urging that heavily promote this new animated series. This content should not only air on Sunday evenings during primetime, but every evening.

Christian group close to getting shut down

Vanderbilt threatens to shut down Christian student groups

Email Vanderbilt University Chancellor Nicholas Zeppos and urge him to go through with shutting down the university’s discriminatory Christian groups on his campus.

Vanderbilt University has placed four Christian student groups on “provisional status” after a university review found them to be in non-compliance with the school’s nondiscrimination policy. If they remain in non-compliance, the student Christian groups risk being shut down.

Vanderbilt says the student organizations cannot require that leaders share the Christian groups’ beliefs, goals and values. Carried to its full extent, it means an atheist could lead a Christian group, a man a woman’s group, a Jew a Muslim group or vice versa.  In other words you can’t be discriminatory.  The nerve!

Last year, an openly gay undergrad at Vanderbilt complained he was kicked out of a Christian fraternity.  It’s amazing that people who claim to be such good Christians can be so mean and hurtful.  So much for love thy neighbor as you love thyself.  As a result, the school took action against five religious groups and said they violated Vanderbilt’s nondiscrimination policy.   All were placed on provisional status.  We’re halfway there, now we need them to finish the job.

Among the groups threatened with shut down is the Christian Legal Society because “Each officer is expected to lead Bible studies, prayer and worship at chapter meetings.” CLS President Justin Gunter said, “We come together to do things that Christians do together. Pray, and have Bible studies, as well as hate anyone who is different from us, especially gay people.” (not an exact quote)

The school says, however, that if the Christian club requires leaders to be a Christian and espouse Christianity, as well as openly hate gay people, it can be shut down.

TAKE ACTION

Send an email to Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas Zeppos – nicholas.s.zeppos@Vanderbilt.Edu.

Urge him to go through with banning the university’s discriminatory Christian groups on his campus.

The Playboy Club has been cancelled

I just wanted to say that the Parents Television Council had nothing to do with this show getting cancelled.  Please don’t pretend you did.  The show got cancelled because it was pretty terrible and no one was watching it.  If the show had good, or even OK ratings it would still be on.  That is all.

Support Home Depot

October Pride – Home Depot expands support for gay marriage

Atlanta Pride gets company backing to support homosexual rights in public

Home Depot is showing it wants to advance same-sex marriage in America. The company is planning to set up a booth at the October 8-9 Gay Pride Festival in Atlanta. The event includes a “Commitment Ceremony” in which two gays get “married.”

Home Depot sponsored these two women getting 'married' at last year's Atlanta event. This picture was taken at the Atlanta gay “marriage” ceremony last year. Home Depot paid for printing thousands of brochures promoting it. Video of last year’s ceremony sponsored by Home Depot here.

Home Depot is also sponsoring the Atlanta pride parade and plans to march alongside groups like Dykes on Bikes, Queer Femme Revolution and Human Rights Campaign.  Good for them!

Over one-half million people have signed the pledge to boycott Home Depot until it agrees to remain neutral in the culture and political war over homosexual marriage.  We need to negate these bigots and show our support for Home Depot.

TAKE ACTION

1. Pray for Home Depot Chairman Frank Blake to make wise decisions regarding his company’s direction.

2. Call your local Home Depot store and ask to speak to the manager. You can find the number to your local store here (click “Store Finder” at top of page) or in your local phone book.

Set Your DVR’s

You can set your DVR’s to record The Playboy Club and Dancing with the Stars.  DVR recordings count for ratings, so even if you didn’t want to watch the shows, you could record it just to counteract the closed-minded hillbillies and then delete it later.

Watch The Playboy Club

Last Monday night NBC aired the premiere of “The Playboy Club” at 10:00 p.m./9:00 Central and it played out just as one would suspect.  It stunk.  That aside it was one of the less risque shows on TV, especially at the 10:00 p.m. time slot. Everyone should watch it just to counteract all the hate groups that want it pulled for no reason.

There were scenes at the Playboy Club and the Playboy Mansion, but for the most part the girls were just bartenders.  They weren’t stripping or hooking or anything else that would be considered offensive.  Their outfits, unfortunately weren’t even that revealing.

Some hate groups have been dumb enough to call this soft porn.  There was one sex scene in the entire hour episode.  One.  It was a total of about 6 seconds long too.  There are more sex scenes in ten minutes of Gossip Girl than in there was in this entire hour-long show.  In fact, name a sitcom and I’ll guarantee you there are more dirty jokes, sex scenes and innuendos than this program.  I think the writers knew there would be backwood, uneducated hate groups going after this show no matter what they did so they purposely made it extra tame. Support Dancing With The Stars

ABC aired the season premiere and the results show of “Dancing with the Stars” this week. Chaz Bono is the first transgendered contestant.  They gave a definition of what that means for anyone who is not aware.  While showing a childhood picture the program aired a description that transgender means, in this case, that Bono was born a girl but is now a man.  The show gives some background on each contestant and that’s what they did for Chaz.  This is not a celebration of being gay or trying to teach kids to become homosexuals, transvestites or anything else like some other hate groups would like you to believe.  It’s an interesting background story and that’s it.

Chaz on BWTS

“DWTS” remains a dance competition show and has just dancing.  Bono and his publicist both said there will be only dancing. Furthermore in an interview with “Good Morning America,” Bono said more than once that there will be only dancing and no agenda or discussion of his sexual lifestyle. I don’t know how you avoid stating sexuality in the explanation of what transgender means, so you’d have to be an idiot to get mad about the mention of Chaz’s sexuality. Continue reading

Ben & Jerry’s Tasty Ice Cream Flavors

Ben & Jerry’s announced their newest ice cream flavor which sounds amazingly delicious.  Schweddy Balls is the name of this new amazing flavor.  it is Fair Trade vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and is loaded with fudge covered rum and milk chocolate malt balls.  Let’s face it, kids are going to start drinking rum eventually so we might as well let them get a taste for it early.

The name originated from a classic Saturday Night Live skit featuring Alec Baldwin as Pete Schweddy. “There are lots of great treats this time of year,” Schweddy says. “Zucchini bread, fruitcake, but the thing I most like to bring out at this time of the year are my balls.”  In the skit he says one of the things he sells is rum balls, thus the fudge-covered rum and malt balls in this treat.

In the past, Ben & Jerry’s has released dozens of delicious ice cream flavors, like a special edition of Chubby Hubby called Hubby Hubby last year which celebrated gay marriage. It seems that offering customers unique flavors has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry’s.

The ice cream is being released in a limited batch, but if it proves popular, we might get more, lets keep our fingers crossed.

“The name is irreverent,” says Ben & Jerry’s spokesman Sean Greenwood. “But we’ve always been about having some irreverence and having some fun … We’re not trying to offend people. Our fans get the humor.”  I guess some people don’t.

Make this a permanent flavor:

Please send Ben & Jerry’s Public Relations Manager, Sean Greenwood, an email letter requesting that millions of additional Schweddy Balls ice cream be distributed. Also, highly recommend they produce other offensive names so you can  purchase their other products as well.
